Have a break . . .
(but don't have a Kit Kat)
Hello.
Your time is precious, and I don’t want to waste it, so I’ll be blunt. I’m not entirely sure what I want to do on this platform, and I’m not entirely sure how much time I can devote to it given all the other slices (of home and family life, writing other things, my job with the Literary Festival) that are taken from my time pie. I don’t want to do you a disservice by not keeping my promises. You deserve more than that.
So, for the moment, Plants Ink newsletters will be on an ad hoc basis, when I’ve got a recipe, a new variety of veg I’m growing, or some news that I simply have to share with you. I am planning a rethink in the spring, when I’ll let you know my plans - hopefully you’ll want to stick around to see what they are, but if not, I completely understand.
I think, in this age of ‘post-truth’ and AI and all the rest, there is value in being honest, and in doing what you do as best you can and with the best resources. I want to make my newsletters with the finest ingredients: there will be no substitution of cheap oils for chocolate - and hoping no-one notices - here (I’m looking at you, Kit Kat and McVities).
Wishing you time to crunch through leaves and curl up with a good book, and the health to enjoy them,
Holly x
